Registration opens March 1, 2010 for this great new event that combines some of the best "scenic cycling" our city has to offer with a "pleasurable paddle" on the Assiniboine.This urban off-road adventure will surely get you ready for The Swamp Donkey in September!
Explore Winnipeg from a different perspective! Pain in the ASSiniboine is our newest and most exciting urban race! Racers cycle river trails, single track, park roads and the famous Trans Canada Trail to reach beautiful Beaudry Park in Headingly, Manitoba.
Hop into your canoe or kayak and paddle the swift moving Assiniboine River past some of Winnipeg's most elegant estates until you reach the Forks - Winnipeg's most popular landmark.

All the race photos are available from Kelly Morton Photography for viewing or purchase. Kelly had a great time shooting the event and is putting together a photo DVD of the entire race. We'll let you know when it's available.

Race Morning - 6:47 AM and it is + 1 Degrees on January 24! RACE ON!
Post Race - 3:17 PM The Ice Donkey Winter Adventure is officially in the books! Thanks to everyone for your hard work and racing hard! Rick and John had a great time putting on this race for all our participants.
We especially would like to thank Karen and Amber for their amazing effort. You are now considered part of our "Donkey" family. To our Swamp Donkey Crew: Kurt and Liz, you were always are there putting in 110% leading up to this event and we are indebted. Also a special thanks to Taggart, Rose, Alex, Scott, Jean, and Barry, you went above and beyond to assist on race day. Thanks to all our great volunteers and Forks crew that are so amazing, we couldn't do it without your energy. And thanks to Ace for being the brainchild of this great event.
And now our racers: all we can say is Wow! No matter what challenge we throw at you, you're there to take it on, head-first and show us you have the drive and determination!! We will keep working hard because you deserve it!

Well....the race crew is here at the Forks tonight and having a blast! Rick just got back from 90 minutes of clearing snow on the biking trails! The weather is amazing - created a little havoc for race planners, but it will be an awesome morning! Looking forward to seeing you all on race day tomorrow!
