Wow! 18 teams signed up already and possibly more this weekend. It is officially "Game On" for Swamp Donkey 2009. Remember to get in early and to take advantage of the Falcon Lake Hotel draw.

It's all about the "Sox". Our first 10 teams will be the proud owners of limited edition Swamp Donkey Logo Sox, but all is not lost! Tech Sox has offered a Swamp Donkey special to all racers, with their Xtreme Sox 2 pairs for only $20! (THAT'S A $26 VALUE and NO S & H) Please check out the sizing chart and contact John with team sizes. Orders must be placed by June 30/09.

If this weather ever makes up it's mind, maybe we'll actually have spring for more than 2 days! Still, one lesson to be learned from "seasoned" adventure racers is, if you train in bad conditions you're better prepared come race day if the weather turns sour.

The Full Moon in June Was a ''Howl'' For Team SwampDonkeyAR.com

We'll to say the SwampDonkeyAR Team had a great time and a great race, is an understatement. After racing hard for 35 hours and 45 minutes the team from the ‘'vertically challenged'' province of Manitoba crossed the finish line at the 11th Full Moon in June Adventure Race held in Invermere BC. Adventure racers John Ford, Rick Shone, Catherine Alleyn-Dorrn and Alex Mann brought the true spirit of ‘'Friendly Manitoba'' to this amazing event. Read the whole race report here

New Race Crew Members for '09

John and Rick are pleased to announce that we have 3 new crew members joining us to help put on the greatest Manitoban adventure race. Barry Whitford comes from years of outdoor adventure and is an experienced climber. Barry will be leading the volunteer effort and organizing race day logistics. Kurt Lehmann is also an avid outdoorsman who brings the skills of his paramedic profession to the race. Kurt will be co-ordinating the safety aspect of the race.  And Liz Roffey is heading up our Sponsorship and Promotion. Liz not only brings an ton of outdoor marketing experience but she's a load of ''fun'' too. Having volunteered at the both the Swamp and Snow Donkey events she knows what it takes for a successful event. We encourage everyone to challenge themselves and enjoy this years race but without our volunteers, strong commitment to safety first, and our supportive sponsors, the race would not exist.
